Guide to Safe Scouting

The Guide to Safe Scouting, is a publication by the Boy Scouts of America that establishes guidelines for staying safe during Scout activities.  The Guide to Safe Scouting covers all BSA programs including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing.  Anytime there is a question about the rules and regulations that cover what can and can not be done as Scouts, the Guide to Safe Scouting is the first place to look.

Age Appropriate Guidelines

It is important to review the Guide to Safe Scouting and always follow the guidelines.  In case of accident, having followed the Guide to Safe Scouting guidelines could make the difference when it comes to deciding eligibility for the BSA insurance for your unit.

Keep in mind that often well meaning leaders will express opinions as to what is right and what is wrong.  Do your research, consult resources like the Guide to Safe Scouting, and make sure you have first hand knowledge of the rules.

You can get a copy of the Guide to Safe Scouting for your unit from your local Scout Shop, or use the link below to review it on-line.
