2010 National Jamboree
Simon Kenton Council Contingent
Since 1937 more than 654,000 Scouts and leaders have shared the jamboree experience and hiked the trails,
paths, and roadways at 17 national Scout jamborees. Now, 100 years after Scouting reached the United
States, it's your turn to celebrate!
The Simon Kenton Council Jamboree Contingent Committee is pleased to announce that plans are underway
for our participation in the Boy Scout Centennial Jamboree.
The Simon Kenton Council is taking FIVE troops of 36 youth and 4 adult leaders, as a contingent, to the
2010 National Jamboree. Once a troop from a specific area has reached 36 youth, all others will be on a
council-wide waiting list. If you want to be in a certain troop from a certain area and do not make that
first 36, you may end up in a troop from another area.
Be a part of history and reserve your place. Over 43,000 Scouts and leaders will be there .......... WILL YOU?
Go to the
National Jamboree Website
and READ the requirements to be eligible to go the 2010 Jamboree. Registration is first-come, first served
so BE PREPARED to get registered as soon as registration is opened up again.

SKC Jamboree Flyer
YOUTH
Youth may register online, there is currently no other way to do so. Youth participants are registered first
come-first served, assuming they pass the mandatory requirements posted on the national web site. Go to
www.myscouting.org
to set up an account. You have to create a new account. Once registered, the prompts take you to a page where
you choose "Event Registration." Choose 2010 National Scout Jamboree Youth Participant. You'll need your BSA
member ID.
ADULT LEADERSHIP FOR TROOPS
Adult leadership for troops DO NOT register online. A council application will be made available through your
District Executive and on the SKC web site in the very near future. All applicants will be screened by the
Council Jamboree Contingent Committee. To be approved by the Council Jamboree Committee, the prospective adult
must also have specific references. Your background in scouting will also be a factor; have you participated
in council activities? Are you Wood Badge trained (either course.) Did you participate in FOS? Is your home
unit a good example of a boy-led troop? Has your unit sold popcorn? Have you and your unit attended SKC Summer
camps? Can you pass the rigorous physical requirements? (You have until May of 2010 to improve yourself!) Adults
are expected to be "role models of physical fitness."
ADULT STAFF (SUBCAMP AND NATIONAL)
Adult staff may register online, there is currently no other way to do so. To be approved by the Council Jamboree
Committee, the prospective adult must also have specific references. Your background in scouting will also be a
