Memorial Day - Remembering Our Veterans
Many Scouting units work with area Veterans Service Organizations (VSO's) to place flags on
the graves of veterans for Memorial Day. This year, the Franklin County Veterans Service Commission
will recognize Scouts who participate by awarding them a patch at a special event to be held at
Veterans Memorial at 7 PM on Friday, June 6.
To take part in the flag placement program, units must contact a local VFW or American Legion
Post to let them know you would like to participate. You should also provide an estimate of the
number of Scouts who will take part. The post is responsible for letting the FCVSC know how many
patches they will need.
