Frontier Olympiad Camporee

Boy Scouts, Venturing Crews, Scouters of Buckeye District and their leaders, are invited to the

Frontier Olympiad Camporee
October 17-19, 2008
Camp Otter Run

The Frontier Olympiad Camporee program will feature inter-patrol competition in many events. Be ready to "GO for the GOLD" and see how your patrol stacks up against other patrols in the district!

The Olympiad will be organized in four activity areas. Two of the areas will have a single major event. The other two will have many patrol contests. A competitive orienteering contest will be provided by The United States Orienteering Federation. Bring your compass and show that you can find your way.

From the new frontier we will have Geocaching using GPS units to find treasures. If possible, find a GPS unit that you can use and learn how to find your way with it before you arrive. If you don’t have a GPS unit, one will be provided along with some instruction.

The Scout Skills and Games Area will have Scout skills events and a number of relay events. Be sure to bring your Patrol Flag. The "Frontier" Games Area will have games that date from the prehistoric frontier to the frontier of the future.

Contact Camporee Chairman Tom Pauling with questions. Additional information can be obtained at Roundtable and in the Camporee Bulletin.
