Unit is the term that designates any one of the following in the Boy Scouts of America:
Pack - Cub Scouting
Troop - Boy Scouting
Team - Varsity Scouting
Crew or Ship - Venturing
Each unit is sponsored by a chartered organization, which is a religious, civic, fraternal,
educational, or other group that has applied for and received a charter to operate a Scouting
unit.

A Unit Commissioner is a district volunteer who is responsible for keeping Scouting units
alive, healthy, happy, and registered on time. The Unit Commissioner's mission
is to is help the unit succeed!
