It's time to nominate your fellow Scouters for the recognition they deserve! Don't delay, nominations
must be postmarked or in the hands of the Nominating Committee Chairman no later than 8 PM on Saturday,
December 15, 2007.

has devoted his or her time and energy to serving the youth of Buckeye District.

William D. Boyce Award Information
Award Descriptions
BRIDGE BUILDER - Recognition of significant service to Scouting during the past year at the
Unit or District level.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE CERTIFICATE - Recognition of continuing dependable and unselfish service,
above and beyond the average, at the Unit or District level during the past year.
DAVID KATONAK DISTINGUISHED SERVICE PLAQUE - Recognition of continuing, distinguished and exceptional
service to Scouting during the past several years.
NATIONAL DISTRICT AWARD OF MERIT - A nominee must be a registered Scouter; must have rendered
noteworthy service to youth in Scouting, outside Scouting or both. The nature and value of the
"noteworthy service to youth" may consist of a single plan that contributed vitally to the lives
of large numbers of youth or it may be given to a small group over an extended period of time.
Consideration must be given to the nominee's Scouting position and the corresponding opportunity
to render outstanding service beyond the expectations of that Scouting position. The nominee's
attitude toward and cooperation with the District, Division and/or Council is to be taken into
consideration.
LAMPLIGHTER AWARD - Recognition for service above and beyond the ordinary in revitalizing a dying
unit. Given in consultation with the District Commissioner.
WILLIAM D. BOYDCE NEW-UNIT ORGANIZER AWARD - Recognition for a volunteer for service above and
beyond the ordinary in aiding the Unit Organizer in creating a new unit. Given in consultation
with the District Commissioner.
Nomination Submittal Instructions
Nominations must be postmarked, emailed, or in the hands of the Nominating Committee Chair,
Alex Protopopow no later that 8:00 PM on Saturday,
December 15, 2007.
Fill out the form as completely as possible. Include both the nominee's and nominator's information.
Don't forget addresses and phone numbers. Please be neat and make sure the form is legible. Feel free
to duplicate the form and attach additional information if necessary. Competed forms can be mailed or
faxed (see the form for instructions).
